Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then discovered numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials report initial examinations indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; officials are not yet aware of any physical harm in association with the event," they stated.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for details.
A senior official said the vandalism left him stunned and needed to be solved promptly.
"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in 2020.
